The course will discuss extension and approximation of functions. Typical questions addressed include: How to decide whether a given function f:E->R on a subset E of R^n can be extended to C^m function F on the whole R^n? If such an F exists, then how small can we make F and its derivatives up to order m? How can we compute such an F if E is finite? How many computer operations does it take?
