Tree decompositions are a powerful tool in structural graph theory that is traditionally used in the context of forbidden graph minors. Connecting tree decompositions and forbidden induced subgraphs is a new research area that has gained momentum over the last several years. This course will introduce the subject and discuss the recent developments.
